| Black & White Confirmed for Dreamcast |
Lionhead to deliver real-time multiplayer gaming
Sega Europe have announced that they've signed Lionhead Studios to develop software for Dreamcast, starting with the much touted Black & White. The groundbreaking god game features a revolutionary fully scalable, rotating, environment-mapped, modifiable landscape with an engine giving through-the-eye vision, bump mapping, light sourcing and reflections.
"I have been very impressed with the technological capabilities of Dreamcast, so I am therefore delighted that we will be able to see Black & White on the console," said Peter Molyneux, Managing Director of Lionhead Studios. "This exciting platform will be able to make the very most of every aspect of the game, from its strong visuals to its wide ranging multiplayer and network capabilities - I can't wait to play it on Dreamcast myself."
Multiplayer? You heard right - Black & White will take advantage of Dreamcast's Internet capabilities, allowing a number of players to compete against each other in real-time. So that's why Sega's little white box has got a modem.
Black & White will hit Dreamcast by Christmas 2000. It will be fantastic.
