Redstorm ponder multiplayer dilemma
The N64 version of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six is to be more than just a straight port from the PC, according to Redstorm Studios.
Developers Saffire are planning to combine levels from the PC original with a few from the Eagle Watch add-on pack. The interface is also undergoing a complete overhaul, making it more suited to the N64 controller.
As for the N64's proven multiplayer prowess, Saffire are currently undecided whether to make the game three or four-player. The argument for three-player stems from the necessity to have the map on show at all times, although this doesn't mean that four-player won't happen.
What we want to see is a three-player co-operative mode as well as a four-player deathmatch. Are we asking for too much? We don't think so.
