EA to release Warpath: Jurassic Park for PlayStation
Soon you will have the opportunity to see just how hard a velociraptor is, with the release of DreamWorks Interactive's Warpath: Jurassic Park.
Choose from 14 prehistoric pugilists including 'raptors, triceratops and the formidable T-Rex, then have it out in the classic beat 'em up style. All your standard fight modes will be present - practise, arcade, versus, survival - as well as 'team' and 'rage'. The latter looks particularly interesting - your rage level increases every time you are hit or taunted, allowing for a brief yet frenzied attack with improved speed.
A few 'nice' touches have been implemented to appease the bloodthirsty hordes. Firstly there's the damage system - the dinosaurs will bruise and scar when hit. Continuous pummelling of the damaged area will actually remove some skin and reveal the bone underneath. Yuck!
The other innovation comes into play when you are a little low on health. All you need to do is keep an eye out for the humans, cows and goats that occasionally scuttle by. Devouring one of these tasty morsels will give your health bar a much needed boost.
Warpath: Jurassic Park will be released sometime this autumn.
