Three titles announced for new PlayStation
Ubi Soft have tossed their hat into the PlayStation 2 ring with the announcement that they're developing three games for Sony's new console. All three are being coded in-house, and Ubi Soft are expected to announce further projects at a later date. The confirmed titles are Rayman 2, Racing Simulation: Monaco and D-Jump. Rayman 2 will be an extended version of the PC game. D-Jump sounds the most bizarre of the lot. Apparently it's an action platformer starring a skateboarding Rastafarian who is turning into wood. No, really. He has to travel through history on his board to find a cure for his unusual ailment.
"We feel this commitment to the PlayStation 2 console is both an important development in the videogame industry and also a milestone for Ubi Soft publishing," commented Ubi Soft MD, Geoff Chambers. "We're keen to push ahead with the idea and maximise the opportunity that the PlayStation 2 promises within the next generation console market."
