Player Manager Online

Anco's football management sim to hit the Internet

Anco are set to be the first software company to produce a football management game for online gamers. Player Manager 2000 Online will be available to wannabe wheelers and dealers on the Internet when it's released later this year.

Anco's European marketing manager, Saul Lees, told trade paper CTW: "This is an excellent opportunity to focus on an area that people are passionate about. Until now, consumers have had very little choice in terms of footie management online and have had to pay fees that could easily buy a full-price game in the shops. We intend to offer consumers graphics and game options online, similar to that of a retail release, at a fraction of the cost".

Football management games remain bafflingly popular and Player Manager 2000 could find itself a niche. Whether it will be as detailed as Championship Manager 3 remains to be seen, though. Would you play football management games on the Internet? Send your thoughts to Andy Smith at the usual feedback address.
