Left Field Studios' Excitebike 64 to use Nintendo's 4Mb Expansion Pak

According to Nintendo's official magazine, the 64bit update to Excitebike will make full use of the 4Mb Expansion Pak for an optional high-resolution mode. The game, scheduled for release this December, is said to be running at a constant 30 frames per second, even without the Pak, and is predicted to run just as smoothly, if not better, with it.

Excitebike 64 serves as the latest example that Nintendo are completely behind the memory add-on. Given the fact that Left Field's dirt-bike racer launches shortly after the much-anticipated Donkey Kong 64 (which comes packaged with the 4Mb), it's safe to assume that a much wider percentage of N64 owners will be enjoying the benefits of the expanded RAM - for both games.
