Film competition tie-in with Urban Chaos
Eidos are running a young film-makers competition in conjunction with BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts). The selected films will be used to support the September 1999 launch of Urban Chaos, the PC and PlayStation game developed by Mucky Foot.
Film students around the country have already submitted their films, which are based on definitions of Urban Chaos. The game is set at the millennium in a city which is about to realise all the predictions of Nostradamus - and we're not talking street parties and party poppers, here. Should make for cheery stuff, anyway. The winner will be announced at an Urban Chaos-themed event which takes place on July 13 at the IMAX cinema in Waterloo.
"There is a great deal of synergy between the development of a computer game and the creation of a film," said Karen Ridley, Eidos marketing manager. "Working on this project has broadened our awareness of the amazing talent of our young film-makers today and has opened our eyes to the many opportunities we can maximise in the future".
Remember the smashing film versions of Mortal Kombat and Super Mario Bros?
