Koei spending fortune developing DVD game

Koei are currently developing a DVD game (digital video disc) for Sony’s next generation PlayStation. The game, called Kessen (or ‘Battle’), is set in 1600 AD and depicts an ancient battle. The DVD format should ensure that Kessen has ridiculously grand visuals.

After Koei announced the game’s development, their share price rose sharply on the stock market. Kessen is expected to be released at the same time as the console itself, which should be in December this year if things run smoothly.
