Microsoft boost title bid with three new signings
Microsoft have thrown down the gauntlet to Electronic Arts after announcing three new sports titles for the PC. International Football 2000, NBA Inside Drive and Baseball 2000 are all due for release at the beginning of September.
"We are going for EA Sports in a big way," Microsoft's Games Marketing Manager Stephen McGill told CTW. "People will undoubtedly compare our products and we think they will stack up against the competition; not only EA, but Gremlin and the other publishers currently operating in that market."
We gave all three games a thorough 'testing' last week and they're not looking too shabby (check out Future Gamer's International Football 2000 preview). Add the fact that NBA Inside Drive and Baseball 2000 will be priced at £19.99 each (something to do with UK gamers' limited interest in American sports) and Microsoft may be on to a winner.
Don't expect EA to just roll over though - they've already slashed most of their PlayStation sports titles to a tempting £19.99.
