Bands Line Up for Wipeout 3

Psygnosis announce complete band line-up, including Chemical Brothers, Propellerheads and Orbital

The complete musical line-up for the third in Psygnosis's popular, PlayStation-exclusive Wipeout series, featuring well-known electronica and techno bands from England and North America, was announced today.

As has been the tradition with Wipeout, the music is of vital importance to the game. The latest soundtrack highlights musical tracks from the Chemical Brothers, Underworld, Propellerheads, Orbital and Paul Van Dyk, in addition to five exclusive tracks from renowned British DJ Sasha, who is overseeing the game's musical direction.

Big-name bands from previous Wipeout titles have included the Chemical Brothers, Orbital and Leftfield (Wipeout), and The Future Sound of London, Underworld, The Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Fluke and Daft Punk (Wipeout XL).

"We are very excited to have such a high-calibre line-up of artists on board for Wipeout 3," said Psygnosis' Enda Carey, Central Product Development Manager. "With Sasha at the helm as Musical Director, working closely with the development team and the other artists, we can ensure that all the tracks fit exactly with what is going on in the game, as opposed to the licensing being an afterthought at the end of the development cycle."

Sasha said, "I'm delighted that Psygnosis invited me to be a part of Wipeout 3. I've always been a fan of the series and the combination of high-speed racing and cutting edge design makes Wipeout 3 a perfect fit for the type of music I produce. The Wipeout series has always had a huge underground following - I'm certain that the crossover between the people who listen to my music and those who enjoy games like Wipeout is enormous."
