Online betting coming to the Dreamcast
Sega and the Japan Racing Association are to launch an online betting system for the Dreamcast in April.
The Nikkei Industrial reports that Sega are aiming to draw in punters from the gambling community for their new console, as well as helping the Dreamcast shrug off the ‘toy’ image. The JRA are hoping that the venture will improve the public image of gambling and also encourage young gamers to bet on the nags in the future.
It’s unlikely that such a system would be permitted in this country.
