Garry Kasparov's online chess match against the rest of the world is on target to become the largest interactive competition in history
As we reported a couple of issues ago, Garry Kasparov is currently taking part in an interactive chess match in which people from all over the world are invited to play, by committee, against the chess genius.
Garry, as white, makes a move and then the rest of the world logging onto Microsoft's website have 24 hours to vote for the best response. The match, now at its 16th move, shows no sign of a winner yet and the Microsoft site has had more than six million page views in the first four weeks of the event.
"The world team is strong and some of the moves have surprised me," Kasparov said. "They have made no mistakes so far, but I wonder how long ingenuity can prevail."
Get along to the website and cast your vote. If nothing else, you'll be taking part in a historic Internet event.
