Deal could see PlayStations in 1,800 pubs
The damned things are everywhere! First Sony put PlayStations in trendy discos, then they shipped PlayStation pods into the concourses of a number of Premiership football grounds. And now, according to trade paper MCV, Sony are close to agreeing a deal with massive brewing group Scottish Courage which could see PlayStations in up to 1,800 public houses.
Naturally, this move will ensure gaming hits a wider audience, which has to be a Good Thing, and it will obviously increase the PlayStation's already high-profile. You won't have to pay to play and the PlayStations will probably be placed in special areas.
"Large G&T, packet of pork scratchings and a game of Actua Soccer 3, please barmaid." Doesn't quite sound right. Yet.
