| Soul Calibur Score |
Dear Future Gamer
I must show my total disgust at James Price's review of Soul Calibur - an unbelievable mark for a game of this standard. In future I recommend that you keep this reviewer away from Sega games because it's clear he's completely biased.
He explains that the game runs at a silky smooth pace. Is that all he can say? This game moves far better than that. I'd even go on to say that it's smoother than a baby's arse which has just been smoothed out on a disk sander. He then moves on to insulting the machine itself, showing utter disdain for the obvious genius who designed it: "Sega's wee sandwich toaster" I find quite frankly offensive. Clearly the machine looks more like an extremely well designed, small, compact, modern games console. And then, of all insults, he has the audacity to compare the game to a soap opera. Oh, I'm fuming now!
As well as the occasional digs, he blatantly avoids the outstanding features of the game. Nowhere does he say how amazing the effect of dynamic lighting is when weapons clash. Nor does he explain that there's no jump button present in the game, leading to even more tactical movements and strategies. Never does he enlighten us with how perfect the learning curve is on single-player.
If ever I have to listen to such abuse about one of the greatest games ever then I shall be forced to give Mr Price a good kicking. 97 per cent indeed - it should have at least been two per cent higher than that.
And if you noticed a glimmer of sarcasm in this letter then you'd be right. Keep up the good work.
Rob Wilson
FG:
No, it really does look like a sandwich toaster. Good game that Soul Calibur, though.
