Screenshot Scandal?

Dear Future Gamer

I recently downloaded the Tiberian Sun Gold MOD off the net. I loved it so much that I just had to mosey on over to their site and have a look... but horror!

As I read I was gobsmacked. No more versions will be released. Why? I read on... Well, to cut this short, Westwood are stealing units that the TS Gold crew have created to put into the new TS add-on Firestorm.

But wait, the stuff that I'm really mad about has yet to be said. Westwood released fake screenshots? No! This can't be true! But I looked on the back of my TS box to see that the screenshots there are totally different. Just look at the construction bar: the radar box isn't covered up in the same way and the units and buildings that you can build are decidedly better looking on the box. And Mammoth Tanks?

Why do they put these screens on the box? Why, Westwood, why? Please don't do the same for Tiberian Twilight and Renegade!

FG: Crikey! Don't get so worked up Richard. The packaging for games often has to be planned and made long before the game's finished and that sometimes means they have to use screenshots of the game as it stands then. Changes may take place afterwards when the designers feel the graphics can be improved and that might mean the ones on the box are out of date. Anyway, who cares about the packaging once you're playing the game?
