Cart Concerns

Dear Future Gamer

How do my N64 carts save? Is it true they use battery back-up? If so, won't the batteries run out, and if this is the case I'll be highly pissed off if one day I go to play GoldenEye and all the time cheats aren't there. Can you shed any light on this?

Rowan Youngston

FG: N64 carts use a lithium battery to back up game saves. This battery normally lasts about five years so don't panic just yet about losing your game saves. The chances are you'll be playing Perfect Dark in five years anyway. Possibly.
