Raid on Schweinfurt promises to be fun for everyone... except those in Schweinfurt

The Allied bombing raid on Schweinfurt in 1943 reduced the German supply of ball bearings, severely weakening the Nazi war machine. In addition to stopping tanks dead in their tracks and keeping elements of the Luftwaffe grounded, the raid on Schweinfurt also put an end to Hitler's dream of an elite unit of rollerskate-equipped soldiers, die Rolle Rochenpanzers. Got the context? Good.

Now Microsoft come along over 50 years later and decide to recreate the raid using their multiplayer online flight sim, Fighter Ace II, on the MSN Gaming Zone. The event will take place on January 16 at 8pm GMT. Players must first register on the zone before Friday. Registration is free, as is the first month's gameplay.
