Four-player simultaneous play? New characters? Check out these insane details
Japanese news source Minaduki have revealed new details on Capcom's upcoming Power Stone 2, and for fans of the original, the title seems to be a dream in the making.
First up is the big news: the game will be simultaneously playable by four people. Capcom originally commented on their hopes to get this feature in part one, but they were unable to do so given the project being their first Dreamcast title. They hinted that if they were to do a sequel, this was one feature on which they'd like to focus.
The stages are also being redesigned and some will feature a system that changes the battlefield throughout a match. In one stage, for instance, you'll begin your fight on an airship, but will also find yourself fighting in the air and, ultimately, on the ground. We're not sure just yet how this system will work in the battles, but it should add an interesting dynamic to the gameplay.
Finally, four new characters have been revealed for the game: the wandering gunman Axel, the evil chef Guruman, the young princess Julia and the young boy Pete.
The game is scheduled for simultaneous arcade and Dreamcast release this spring and both versions should be able to communicate through the Dreamcast VMU. With the release date so near, expect the game to magically appear on test in the coming months.
