MP3 add-on for Game Boy unveiled at CES
One of the more exciting announcements at last week's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas came from Songboy, with the unveiling of their MP3 attachment for Game Boy and Game Boy Color. The device will be sold online at the Songboy website in early spring for around $99 (about £60) and will come with a 16Mb memory module. While this will only allow storage of around 16 minutes of music, a 32Mb expansion module will be available separately. Additionally, when using the encrypted .mpe format, the Game Boy screen will be able to display visual information such as album covers and song lyrics. Prior to the launch, eager beavers can download the Songboy PC Player, which emulates the basic functions of Songboy on your PC, by clicking here.
