Jammy Japanese gamers are about to get a PocketStation game creation tool for PlayStation. Pocket Jiman (which translates as The Proud PocketStation) will be released in Japan on January 13 for 3,800 yen (around £20). This nifty little application enables the easy creation of mini-games for Sony's elusive memory gadget, including RPGs and adventures. Finished games can then be saved onto the PocketStation and exchanged with friends. And if you can't be arsed, or are just plain rubbish, you can always play around and modify the 40 sample games included on the CD.

Gameplay.com have signed an agreement with Telewest Communications, the UK's second largest cable operator, confirming commercial terms for hosting gameplay's online retail services on Telewest's forthcoming Active Digital interactive TV service. Considering gameplay's recent involvement in pioneering ADSL tests across Britain, we could be about to see a significant erique to the speed of online gaming. "The technical capabilities of our digital broadband network will allow Telewest to deliver leading-edge online games, far superior to satellite or terrestrial TV platforms," said Telewest's Chris Townsend.

There are a few new demos on the Future Gamer website, which is nice. They're called Test Drive 6, NASCAR Racing 3 and - neigh, bang - Horse & Musket. Latest additions to the Hints and Tips database include Player Manager 99 on PC, CyberTiger on PlayStation, NFL Quarterback Club 2000 on N64 and Re-Volt on Dreamcast. We've also got patches and updates for all the latest games.
