Team Fortress Classic for Half-Life

Sierra release free multiplayer Half-Life add-on

It's the patch we've been waiting for. Valve Software and Sierra Studios have announced the launch of Team Fortress Classic for Half-Life, adding exciting team-based action to the king of first-person shooters. And it's free.

Battle it out online or over a LAN in one of nine player classes, such as medic, soldier and engineer. Each class has unique weapons, items, abilities and styles of play.

Team Fortress Classic features a few innovative scenarios, such as 'Hunted', where players are divided into two teams, bodyguards and assassins; 'Canal Zone', a territory control scenario; and 'Push', which is best be described as football with machine-guns. All your old favourites are in there too, such as 'Capture the Flag'.

One thing - the file is 18Mb. As well as adding Team Fortress Classic, the patch also upgrades your full version of Half-Life to version (erk) 1.0.0.9, improving 3D hardware performance in the process. Downloading may take a while, but it's worth it.
