| Rogue Spear "sounds a bit like Robespierre" |
Red Storm spill the beans on Rainbow Six sequel
Red Storm Entertainment have finally released some solid details on the eagerly awaited sequel to Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six.
The basic premise of Rogue Spear is that two well-known international terrorist groups have formed an alliance in order to achieve even more sinister goals. The action will take place in 16 separate levels, comprising 18 unique missions (some levels will be visited at different periods of time). As with the original, you'll be expected to perform various anti-terrorist tasks including hostage rescue, surveillance and demolition.
"When we started working on the sequel to Rainbow Six, we paid a lot of attention to what our customers had to say about the game," said Carl Schneurr, Rainbow Six and Rogue Spear producer. "We hope the new features and improvements that we're implementing in the sequel make it the ultimate gaming experience for players everywhere."
Improved AI should ensure that your team won't get wedged in a doorway as they did in Rainbow Six, a bug that seriously messed up the original. Another welcome addition is the multiplayer 'arm patch', so you can customise your squad uniforms to reduce confusion during frantic firefights.
If all goes well, Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear should appear around September
