3D glasses back in vogue

ELSA announces 3D Revelator glasses

And you thought Virtual Reality was dead. ELSA Inc have announced the 3D Revelator, offering gamers an entirely immersive stereo 3D view of the action.

The glasses supply each eye with an image from a slightly different perspective in rapid succession. The alternating image is merged by the human brain, to form a true stereo 3D image. This is the way holography works, and also nature.

"ELSA 3D Revelator glasses take 3D gameplaying to a whole new level by drawing the player into the environment of a favourite game more intensely than was ever before possible," said Uli Theissen, president of ELSA Inc. "When gamers experience the ultimate 3D sensation that our solution provides, the 3D Revelator will become just as indispensable as the gamepad or joystick to discriminating game players everywhere."

Unless you get a migraine after 10 minutes, presumably. Or already wear specs. 3D glasses have been around as long as games and they've never worked. Still, all the best to ELSA on getting it right this time.
