Japanese Console Chart Update

Pokémon run over by GT2

All hail Gran Turismo 2! As well as being brilliant, the eagerly awaited PlayStation sequel has managed to knock those blessed Pokémon off the top of the Japanese Console Charts. Parasite Eve 2 (PlayStation) also performed admirably in the week of December 13 - 19, shifting 168,830 units and relegating Pokémon Silver and Gold into third and fourth places respectively. Donkey Kong 64 helped to shift a few bargain basement N64s and is still hanging around at number six, while Mario Party 2 strengthened Nintendo's flagging market share in eighth place, shifting 82,840 units in its first week. Dreamcast games are notably absent from the list, although with no big Christmas launches it's hardly surprising.
