Nibbles page 2 of 2

There will be over 40 new N64 titles on show at Nintendo SpaceWorld 99. The show will be held in Japan on August 27-29, so you've just got enough time to start saving for the flight (at least it's free to get in). Titles on show include Donkey Kong 64, Zelda Gaiden, Super Mario RPG 2 and Kirby 64, as well as more than 30 Game Boy Color titles and a handful of 64DD offerings.

A new third-party add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator gives armchair pilots the chance to weave their way through the awe-inspiring Grand Canyon. Reality Flights: Grand Canyon features 12,000 square miles of scenery from Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon area, including some famous landmarks such as the Hoover Dam. You'll also find eight photo-realistic airports and four new aircraft - the Cessna 206 Stationair, the De Havilland Twin Otter Vistaliner, the Bell 430 and a Spitfire.

It’s time to flex that modem’s muscle again, as Future Gamer bring you the pick of the week’s demos and patches . First up we’ve got Balls of Steel. We’ve also got a demo of the lovely pinball sim Balls of Steel (thank-you very much). Then there’s Panzer Elite, for those who fancy a bit of destruction, as well as the open beta of Seven Kingdoms II: The Fryhtan Wars. If it’s patches you're after, you can update your Quake 3 Arena Test to version 1.07.

New additions to the Hints and Tips database include Get Bass on the Dreamcast, Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace on the PC, Evil Zone on the PlayStation and Quake II on the N64.

In this week’s Chat Forum update, all talk of the new Star Wars film has been banned. Just wanted to make that clear before we get underway. The biggest topic of conversation this week was ‘who can devise the most horrific death for Jar Jar Binks’, apparently in reference to a character from some recently released sci-fi film. Another character from the film, Darth Maul, has been compared to one Darth Vader. We think this Vader character was in a film a long, time ago, in a galaxy far, far away (or something).

There was some non-Star Wars talk this week - in light of the forthcoming Speedball update on the PlayStation, some forumites have been making a case for other Amiga classics to be updated for today’s consoles. What games would you like to see move from the Amiga up to the Playstation/N64? Drop in and let us know, but hopefully 'none' is the answer if the recent Sensible Soccer update is anything to go by. Elsewhere, users have been ranting and raving about the Game Boy Color; Brad Lacey hates the American spelling. So Brad, have you done as your Mom asked and taken the trashcan out onto the sidewalk yet? As for Jar Jar Binks, take two motorbikes, tie one leg to each then drive away in opposite directions very fast. Ouch! But, indeed, ha!
