Turok: Rage Wars

IGN sit down with the latest instalment of the Turok franchise for some multiplayer action

Acclaim stopped by IGN's offices with a playable copy of the long-awaited semi-third instalment of the Turok franchise, entitled Turok: Rage Wars. While still unfinished, the game already moves at a steady pace and boasts a strong selection of maps, weapons and gore. Find out everything we know so far by means of a simple downward glance:

* Four multiplayer modes: Bloodlust, Team Bloodlust, Frag Tag and Capture the Flag.
* Scenario Mode: acts as a glorified training mode for players, catering to new gamers and challenging the veteran. Play and unlock 14 different characters and mission trees.
* Co-operative mode: play with a friend and choose your battle path.
* Time trial mode: test your skill against the clock.
* Frag Fest Mode: you're given specific requirements to meet in order to proceed (for example, you are the Fireborn - achieve five frags armed only with a shotgun).
* 19 ranks to achieve.
* 25 player skins to unlock.
* 50 medals to attain.
* 17 playable characters: choose from Turok, Adon, Raptor, Mites, etc.
* Computer Bot AI allows for up to six-on-one action.
* Three difficulty levels for Bots.
* Bot customisation: choose character, skill level and team.
* Innovative weapon selection screen allows players to customise their arsenal and play with weapons they like.
* Save and load up to four players per Rage Wars game save. Your friends don't need to own an N64 to play and save their stats.
* Victory cinemas for each character.
* Scenario mode cinemas.
* Simultaneous four-player interface with front end.
* Four brand new "Bot-boss" characters.
* 16 weapons including the scorpion launcher, shotgun, crossbow, inflator and one secret cerebral bore killer.
* Five pick-up weapons.
* Universal power-up pick-up gives players one of 13 different abilities, including invisibility, stone skin and force empathy.
* 36 unique multiplayer maps.
* Gauntlet mode allows players to partake in several maps in a series, instead of one-by-one.
