PlayStation Price Cut?

Sony set to drop PlayStation to £70

Despite the recent boost to the PlayStation market after Virgin's bold initiative to drop game prices to £29.99, hardware sales are down. MCV report that ChartTrack figures show an 11 per cent decrease year-on-year in the last six months (bear with us, please). So what will Sony do about it? Drop the price of the PlayStation, naturally.

With Sega's Dreamcast set to launch at £199 on September 23, Sony will more than likely drop the price of their console to £69.99. This means that the last 2,047 people in the UK who haven't got PlayStations will now go out and get one.
