Metal Gear Solid a No-Go on Dreamcast

Konami tell IGNDC not to hold breath for a conversion

Recent rumblings on the web have led to a great deal of speculation regarding a Dreamcast version of Metal Gear Solid, especially in light of the confirmation that Microsoft would be porting the tactical espionage title to the PC. A Dreamcast port would be an easy option from that point.

However, in a recent sit-down with Konami, IGN have learned that a translation of said port isn't likely. "That's not going to happen," said Konami Producer Ken Ogasawara. "We all know that Kojima-san has said he is working on a Metal Gear for a new platform, and we can all pretty much guess what that is. But, as for the Microsoft port, we have nothing to do with that title. It's in their hands now."

Konami didn't rule out the likelihood of a future version on the Dreamcast, but were reluctant to even hint that we would see any such version.
