Codemasters Go Off The Road

Codies go Hungary for new racing game

Codemasters have added another racing game to their impressive catalogue with the signing of Off The Road, a 4x4 rally-style racer from Hungarian coders Invictus. One of Britain's most successful independent software publishers, Codemasters have recently embarked on a programme to sign up external developers to complement their in-house titles, and Off The Road is just such an acquisition.

Off The Road, which is being developed for both PC and PlayStation, features jeeps, trucks and military vehicles, as well as a plethora of circuits to race along. Apparently there's even a football game in which the vehicles are the players. Woo! Eight can play on the PC, either over the Internet or on a Local Area Network (LAN).

The PC version of Off The Road launches in winter and the PlayStation incarnation should be released early next year.
