Symbolic Ad Campaign

Peugeot plagiarise PlayStation ad

Sony's PlayStation button symbols have become such a well-know icon that they've been hijacked in the latest Peugeot 106 GTI print ad campaign.

Running in magazines such as Sky is a full, black-coloured page with road symbols one third of the way down, deliberated arranged to look just like the PlayStation button symbols. At the bottom of the page, Sony's 'Do not underestimate the power of PlayStation' tag line has been reinterpreted as 'Do not underestimate the power'. Peugeot credit the concept to Sony and state that it's used with permission, but we at Future Gamer reckon it's cool that not only has the PlayStation been recognised as a mainstream hobby, but that Sony's ad campaign has been so well focused and is so recognisable it's worthy of plagiarism.
