Waka Lab will release Dreamcast Sequencer in Japan on October 28. It does exactly what it says on the tin, enabling Dreamcast owners to compose and mix 'phat choons' on their consoles. The program features 2,500 built-in samples to mess around with, and allows you to create your own using the DC Mic peripheral. Files can be saved in MIDI, VPF and WAV formats, and then uploaded onto the Internet for the world to hear.

After three years in development, Sega will finally release Undercover AD2025 Kei for the Dreamcast this winter. The game is similar in many ways to Shenmue, but with a female protagonist - police agent Kei. Set in Tokyo in the year 2025, Kei is pitted against a particularly nasty criminal organisation, but it's not all work - as with Shenmue, you can walk into an amusement arcade and play some Sega classics.

Warp will release D2, their Resident Evil-inspired horror adventure for the Dreamcast, on November 18. Spanning four GD-ROMs, D2 features an immense cast of hideous mutants, including human/plant, human/insect and human/fish (like Seaman perhaps?) hybrids. A fancy new 'view change' system should make it a lot easier when facing multiple enemies - tap a button and the view will change to focus on the next available opponent. As Laura (not Lara), you'll be kitted out with some rather fancy weapons, including machine guns, grenades, sniper rifle (hurrah!) and a pistol with laser sights.

The Dreamcast is looking better every week, especially for fans of arcade beat 'em ups. Capcom will release Star Gladiator 2 on September 2 and it will run at a silky 60 fps. Featuring all the modes from the arcade, Star Gladiator 2 on the Dreamcast will offer you a couple of tasty extras, like the Group Battle Mode, where up to five characters can take on the computer. All 22 fighters will be present and rumour has it that the home version will feature a few extra ones too.

An overzealous preacher in Colorado, USA, has decided that Pokémon is evil. In a graphic demonstration of his beliefs, Pastor Mark Juvera burned Pokémon trading cards with a blowtorch and struck a plastic Pokémon doll with a 30-inch sword. His nine-year-old son then tore the limbs from a hapless Pokémon, while an 85-strong audience of six to 12-year-olds chanted "Burn it, burn it," and "Chop it up, chop it up." It's just as well that there weren't any ladies of ill repute in the area at the time. The Grace Fellowship Church first learned of the evils of Pokémon after they received an email from a Californian crackpot. The message stated that Pokémon encourages role-playing, an activity that elevates children to the position of master, a role reserved solely for God. It went on to say that the games and toys were laced with dark references. Only in America...
