Take 2 Take DMA

Infogrames sell - for a change

Take 2 have plundered their summer war chest for Infogrames' development house DMA, according to trade magazine MCV. The audacious swoop comes hot on the heels of Take 2's investment in US developers Bungie. Take 2 are said to be willing to pay £8 million for DMA Design, the same fee that Liverpool paid Newcastle for Dietmar 'Didi' Hamann. DMA were formerly owned by Gremlin but became part of the Infogrames group when the French giants lock, stock and barrelled the Sheffield company.

Take 2 have had a long-running interest in DMA due to their publishing rights to the Grand Theft Auto series. It's not known whether forthcoming DMA projects like Clan Wars and the PlayStation version of Tanktics will remain with Infogrames should the deal be pushed through.
