Ubi Soft sign Japanese RPGs

Dreamcast and PlayStation licenses signed with ESP

Ubi Soft have signed a licensing agreement with Japanese company Entertainment Software Publishing (ESP) for the publishing rights to role-playing games Evolution and Grandia.

Evolution is set to be the first Dreamcast RPG to launch in Europe and it features a character called Linear, a rather unusual name for an adventure game protagonist. Grandia was one of the Saturn's major successes in Japan and Ubi Soft will publish the PlayStation version in Europe and Australia.

Needless to say, spokesmen from both companies are delighted with the deal, but we'll spare you the gushing quotes. Just this once.

Evolution launches in the Autumn, while Grandia is expected to be released next February.
