Take 2 Get DMA Design

Infogrames sell Scottish studio

One of the UK's most respected development houses, DMA Design, has changed hands yet again. The transfer merry-go-round began when Gremlin bought the Dundee-based studio a couple of years ago. Then Infogrames swallowed Gremlin whole (gulp) and now Take 2 have secured DMA's services.

Take 2 already had the publishing rights to the lucrative Grand Theft Auto series and many thought it a logical step that DMA come under their wing. The US publishers are thought to have paid around £8 million, according to MCV. In football terms, that's a Dietmar Hamann.

GTA 2 has been given an 18 rating by the BBFC but some scenes were considered so unpleasant it was close to getting banned outright according to some sources. Nonetheless, it gets a PC and PlayStation outing on October 22.
