| Seven PlayStation2 Titles Announced |
Capcom and Sony lift the lid... but only slightly
Little is known about the seven titles unveiled at the PlayStation2 Festival in Tokyo, apart from the scant details released by Sony themselves. Here's the official line on each game:
Onimusha - a one-player Capcom-developed game which looks to be set in the Edo era and is likely to be released this summer in Japan.
Maximo (working title) - an action title, also developed by Capcom. Nothing more is known about this one apart from the fact that the main character was designed by the Susumu Matsushita Company.
Extermination - Sony claim to have invented a whole new genre, 'panic-action', with this dark and edgy thriller. It looks a lot like Resident Evil to us. Very pretty it is too.
Dark Cloud - this RPG looks like Sony's attempt at a Zelda beater. Set for an autumn release.
L'Arc-en-Ciel - L'Arc-en-Ciel are one of Japan's top bands, so it's some kind of music game then, we presume.
Dead or Alive 2 - Tecmo's 'bouncing jugs' 3D fighter will support four players and is released on March 30.
Armored Core 2 - developed by From Software, Armored Core 2 has nothing to do with genetically modified apples. Expect large mechs and big explosions. Scheduled for a summer release.
