Radical sequel announced. Like, cool or what, dude?
Activision have announced that they're currently developing Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 for PlayStation, N64, Dreamcast, PC and Game Boy Color. As you'd expect, the sequel promises to expand on the features of the original game.
"Tony Hawk's Pro Skater was a huge success for Activision, both in terms of sales figures and critical acclaim," said Mitch Lasky, Executive Vice President of Activision Studios. "With its all-star line-up of pro skaters and superb gameplay, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater set the benchmark for the genre. With Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 we will take the skateboarding category to new heights."
One of the more exciting new features is the Skatepark Editor that will allow you to build your own dream park in real-time 3D. Your best efforts can then be saved onto a memory card and shared with friends. Also, you can modify existing skaters or even create your own from scratch, decking them out in the latest skatewear (baggy jeans, dog chain... you know the kind of thing).
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 is scheduled for an autumn release.
