Creature Labs announce Yeti game

'Artificial life' specialists Creature Labs, best known for their Creatures games, have announced Beasts for PC. The company's first real-time strategy title puts you in control of a small group of Yeti (aka Sasquatch or Bigfoot) who must overcome a serious crisis that threatens their very existence. A large mining company has started operations near the Yeti, poisoning the environment. You must drive them out by any means necessary.

The Yeti tribes feature dominance hierarchies, realistic mating habits and complex social structures. To win, you'll have to deal with a number of specific, time-pressured missions. Between missions you'll have a more general responsibility for your charges, ensuring that the Yeti prosper and multiply and are ready for the next challenge. Multiplayer options range from deathmatch conflicts between Yeti tribes to open-ended play in which players can observe their beasts interacting, with no set goals.

Beasts is scheduled for release in the second quarter of 2001.
