| Eidos Buy into Spanish Coders Pyro |
Mega corp acquire 25 per cent stake in Commandos coders
Eidos have continued in an acquisitive vein by purchasing a quarter share of Spanish coders Pyro Studios, the team famous for their top-selling PC hit Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines. Not content with that, Eidos have also bought a 75 per cent stake in Spanish distributor Proein.
"We are delighted to have this opportunity to build on our relationship with Proein and Pyro," Eidos' CEO Charles Cornwall told CTW. "The global success of the Commandos titles demonstrates the management team's abilities to create hit products. We have every faith in their ability to continue that development success while maintaining the integrity of their distribution business."
Commandos has been a massive success around the world and no doubt a sequel is on the go. Why didn't we buy shares in Eidos last year? Darn it.
