Sega break sales records across Europe
Sega have confirmed that they sold 100,000 Dreamcasts in 24 hours across Europe. Former middleweight boxing champs Chris Eubank and Nigel Benn helped launch the machine in London at the Virgin Megastore and Tower Records, the former bringing Piccadilly Circus to a standstill when he parked his 'big rig' truck outside the stores. A 17-year-old from London won a Dreamcast scooter after beating Eubank at Ready 2 Rumble.
"The industry has never witnessed such enthusiasm for a new games console," said Sega's European chief, JF Cecillion. "I am delighted that our confidence is so widely shared with our European customers."
