Raise Pets and Explore Hong Kong in Shenmue

Yu Suzuki's masterpiece just got a bit fatter with two new forms of gaming

The news that Shenmue will be seeing its Japanese release before the end of the year has delighted Dreamcast fans all over the world. Now scheduled for December 29 in Japan, a couple of new details have been revealed regarding the game.

We all know that Shenmue promises to be the most realistic game ever created. Further adding to the experience, we've found out that during your adventure you'll encounter a huge maze located in the centre of Hong Kong. This will offer no less then 1,200 rooms, making escape difficult to say the least. Thankfully, you'll be able to use a number of items, such as a telephone, to help you get out safely. Isn't technology wonderful?

We've also learned that Shenmue will feature its very own virtual pet game. By taking home animals (such as a kitten) off the street, you'll be presented with a whole new goal beyond finding out who killed your father - you'll now have to feed, play and properly care for your brand new pet. Reports have stated that you'll be playing this one on your Visual Memory Unit, but nothing's been confirmed just yet.
