Get the release date and first details on this future cult hit

If you're a fan of SNK's fighting games, you'll be thrilled to know that their most successful series, The King Of The Fighters, is due to receive yet another update next year. Imaginatively titled The King Of The Fighters 2000, the game is scheduled for a release across Japanese arcades in July.

Details are still scarce at the moment, but we do know that approximately 56 characters or more will be included in this latest instalment. Better still, the game will be running on the Naomi board, guaranteeing a Dreamcast version before the end of the year. Here's hoping that with the extra power SNK have to play with, we'll be seeing some proper 3D backgrounds this time around. We'll keep you posted.
