Rumours of a super arcade board have been dashed by Sega of Japan. The so-called "Hikaru Board", believed to be responsible for arcade titles such as Brave Firefighters, doesn't exist according to Sega. They insist that the game was run on their Naomi board. So we'll be expecting a Dreamcast port in the near future then, eh Sega?

The Japanese release of Shenmue has just got a little better, with the news of a limited edition package. At 7,800 yen (around £45 - that's £5 more than the regular version), the limited edition includes an extra CD featuring music from the game. We'd prefer it if they stopped arseing around with gimmicks and concentrated on meeting the latest release date of December 29, though.

Konami are currently working on the sequel to their popular arcade shooter Silent Scope. Entitled Dark Silhouette: Silent Scope 2, the game will be linkable, allowing two players to co-operate in Story Mode (a la Time Crisis II) or go head-to-head in Versus Mode. Other cool additions include x-ray and heat-sensing scopes.

Fujicom are believed to be turning their racing/management sim Top of the Formula into a series of games, to be called Top of the Racing. Rumour has it that the next two games in the series will be Top of the GT and Top of the CART. A less reliable source would have us believe that they're to be called Top of the Pops and Top of the World, with the Ireland-only Top o' the Morning to follow.

The "Bizarre Game Title of the Week" award goes to Atlus' forthcoming Game Boy Color RPG Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Children Black Book. The game stars a teenage boy accompanied by his "dog-like devil". Another version of the game will be released simultaneously, entitled Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Children Red Book, which features a schizophrenic teenage girl with an "eagle-like devil" companion. Atlus, we salute you!
