New Man in Charge at 3dfx

Dr Alex Leupp named President and CEO

3dfx announced today that one of their board members, Dr Alex Leupp, has been appointed supreme leader and all-round big cheese. The good doctor brings with him 25 years of experience in the semiconductor industry and has been on the 3dfx board since October 1998. From board to CEO in 13 months? Not too bad. Gordon Campbell, Chairman of the Board, characterises Leupp as "a valuable resource". He brings to the job "technology expertise, leadership abilities and a strong understanding of the semiconductor industry".

Leupp was previously President and CEO of Chip Express Corporation and spent 12 years with Siemens Microelectronics, where he tripled the company's sales.
