| US Army Send For Delta Force |
NovaLogic to customise game for Uncle Sam's next generation Land Warrior program
NovaLogic announced today that their hit special forces action game Delta Force 2 will serve as the foundation for an American military training programme. The game will form part of the US Army's high profile Land Warrior project, a weapons system designed to equip US soldiers for the 21st century.
The Land Warrior soldiers will be fitted with a special helmet incorporating an LCD display relaying information. With the use of a special aiming system, the helmet will even enable a soldier to shoot round corners without exposing their head or body. NovaLogic will be modifying Delta Force 2 to incorporate Land Warrior's capabilities and interfaces for use as a training tool.
Delta Force 2 already includes many of the features wanted for the soldiers who will train to use the land Warrior system, such as the ability to render vast outdoor terrain, as well as indoor and urban settings. There's also multiplayer support for as many as 55 users (DF2 supports 50), varied weather conditions, map displays, night vision and a mission editor.
Bob Springer, President of NovaLogic Systems, said the United States Army were "very intelligently using the best technology in the consumer market to ensure the highest quality training for their soldiers".
