But it's not all bad news...
Codemasters' mud-flinging sequel to the rather splendid Colin McRae Rally has slipped from Easter to mid-June on PlayStation, with a PC version to follow. Although the game is currently complete to its original design, the extension of development time will be used to advance the game's Arcade section, with the inclusion of split-screen two-player modes.
"While the single-player challenge of both Colin McRae Rally games is superb, we want to create and deliver a multiplayer experience to match," said Producer Guy Wilday. "I firmly believe that by extending the two-player options for split-screen Arcade racing we will really be doing the best possible for the game and its future players."
Additionally, Codemasters may use the time to improve the game's presentation and play subtleties, including optimising the frame rate and applying a little extra visual polish.
