Star Wars Online

What the world's been waiting for

LucasArts Entertainment have announced a partnership with Verant Interactive (EverQuest) and Sony Online Entertainment to create a "massively multiplayer" Star Wars role-playing game. Scheduled for a 2001 release, the game will immerse thousands of players into the classic Star Wars universe, with a combination of combat, specialised missions and daring quests.

"The combined expertise of LucasArts, Verant and Sony Online Entertainment will bring to gameplayers an incredibly dynamic online gaming experience worthy of Star Wars," said Simon Jeffery, President of LucasArts. "The immensity and richness of the Star Wars universe lends itself ideally to a game of this nature."

The game will be developed by Verant, distributed by LucasArts and available for play exclusively online at www.station.sony.com. Exciting times, eh?
