THQ and Fox Interactive Announce Game Boy Color Plans

Forthcoming releases to include The Simpsons, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Croc

THQ have secured permission to produce a raft of Game Boy Color titles featuring a host of top Twentieth Century Fox film and television characters (and Croc), it's been announced today.

The worldwide agreement grants THQ the rights to co-publish The Simpsons, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Aliens, Croc and Croc 2 for the handheld. All the titles are scheduled for release in 2000.

"Each of these entertainment licenses enjoys tremendous consumer awareness based on television and game success," enthused Germaine Gioioa, Vice President of Licensing at THQ. "We are delighted to be working with Fox Interactive to add to these high profile properties to THQ's proven Game Boy Color library.

Success to some degree for these games already seems assured. The Simpsons follows two PC titles already out - The Simpsons and Virtual Springfield; Buffy the Vampire Slayer has already been announced for PC, Dreamcast and PlayStation this year; Aliens versus Predator was of course a superb hit on PC; and Croc is already something of a marketing phenomenon, finding favour with young gamers worldwide.

We'll have more information on these intriguing titles as we get it.
