New French developers to revive scarey series
Alone in the Dark was an adventure game for the PC loosely based on the works of H.P. Lovecraft which first saw the light of day several years ago. It and its sequels went on to become a multi-million selling series. It's been a while since the last instalment of the game but come next year supernatural detectives will once again be able to step into the shoes of Edward Carnby.
The game's slated for a PC, PlayStation and Dreamcast release next year and firm details are scant. What we do know is that a new French development team, DarkWorks, are going to be coding the game and that heartens us. French development teams are renowned for their graphic flair and DarkWorks are certainly up to the task of their predecessors, if the early video on show on the Infogrames stand at E3 is anything to go by. Your pants are safe for the moment, but here's a picture to tingle your spine...
