| Titus purchase controlling interest in Interplay |
Multimillion dollar deal announced at E3
Amid the controlled chaos of the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles, Interplay Entertainment announced an agreement that will give Titus Interactive a 57 per cent share of the Southern Californian-based company. This comes on the heels of Titus' separate $10 million investment in Interplay stock nearly two months ago.
Now, the variety of console games produced by the French company will be brought under the same umbrella as Interplay's group of strong PC titles.
Each company intend to continue with their respective plans for N64 releases this year. Titus will offer Superman, Blues Brothers 2000, Roadsters and Xena, Warrior Princess - TheTalisman of Fate before the end of 1999. Interplay have Earthworm Jim 3D and Carmageddon 64 on the way this year.
