Eidos sign major publishing deal with Michael Crichton's game company
Several weeks ago noted author Michael Crichton announced the formation of his own computer game company, Timeline Studios. Today, Eidos announced that they have signed the newly founded development studio to an investment and publishing deal. Eidos have also taken a stake in the company.
Timeline will focus on developing games based on Crichton-related properties. The first project has just gotten underway - the title has not yet been revealed but the game is expected in the first half of 2000.
"We're excited about the possibility of combining the design innovation of our Timeline Studios team with the marketing expertise of Eidos Interactive," said Michael Crichton.
"An engrossing and original storyline married with realistic interactive environments is a major key to a successful computer game," said Charles Cornwall, CEO of Eidos. "Michael Crichton and Timeline Studios are in a unique position to deliver this kind of quality content. We are looking forward to an exciting, profitable and long-term partnership."
